KOOBOOK Preamps Editorial Review
The KOOBOOK 2Pcs SSM2167 Microphone Preamplifier Board is a small form factor preamp compression module designed to convert inexpensive computer desk microphones to use on VHF and UHF amateur radios or amplified desk phones. One review mentions that with the board, a PTT switch, a resistor, and a capacitor, users are able to have an amplified mic for about $15 to $20. Another review suggests that the product is a cool idea, although one may need to test different equipment and power levels. A third review warns that there is no schematic or link provided, which is a significant disadvantage. One customer with a Master's degree bought four of these boards, but all of them did not work, and the review mentioned that the information provided was not clear enough to troubleshoot easily.
