What type of hair is Profectiv Procision Touch Relaxer Super suitable for?

Profectiv Procision Touch Relaxer Super is specifically formulated for coarse, curly, and resistant hair types. It helps to achieve smooth and sleek results while minimizing damage. This relaxer contains conditioning properties that work to soften and relax stubborn curls, making it ideal for those who struggle with frizz or coarseness. For instance, individuals with tightly coiled hair will find that this product effectively tames their locks and provides a more manageable texture.

How long should I leave Profectiv Procision Touch Relaxer Super in my hair?

The recommended processing time for Profectiv Procision Touch Relaxer Super typically ranges from 10 to 20 minutes, depending on your hair's texture and how straight you desire the results. It's crucial to follow the instructions provided in the kit for the best outcomes. Over-processing can lead to hair damage, so it’s recommended to perform a strand test before full application, especially for first-time users. This ensures you achieve the desired straightness without compromising hair health.

Can I use Profectiv Procision Touch Relaxer Super on color-treated hair?

While Profectiv Procision Touch Relaxer Super can be used on color-treated hair, it's important to assess the condition of your hair beforehand. If your hair has been recently colored or chemically treated, it may be more susceptible to damage. Therefore, a strand test is advisable to check compatibility and sensitivity. For best results, consider consulting with a hairstylist, as they can provide personalized advice based on your hair type and treatment history.

What are the main benefits of using Profectiv Procision Touch Relaxer Super?

Profectiv Procision Touch Relaxer Super delivers several key benefits, including relaxing curls without excessive damage, providing a smoother texture, and enhancing shine. Its unique formulation includes moisturizing agents that hydrate the hair during the relaxing process, minimizing dryness and breakage. Users notice that their hair becomes more manageable and easier to style, especially during humid conditions, making daily styling routines much simpler.

Is Profectiv Procision Touch Relaxer Super safe for regular use?

Using Profectiv Procision Touch Relaxer Super regularly is generally considered safe if used according to the manufacturer's instructions. However, it's advised to allow adequate intervals between applications—typically every 6 to 8 weeks—to prevent excessive damage. Regular monitoring of your hair's health is essential, as over-relaxation can lead to brittleness. If you observe any signs of damage, such as excessive dryness or breakage, it may be time to pause and restore your hair's strength with deep conditioning treatments.

What tools do I need when using Profectiv Procision Touch Relaxer Super?

To use Profectiv Procision Touch Relaxer Super effectively, you'll need a few essential tools. These include an applicator brush for even distribution, a wide-tooth comb for detangling, and protective gloves to prevent chemical burns on your skin. Additionally, having a timer is crucial to avoid over-processing. For optimal results, consider using a mixing bowl, a plastic cap to retain heat and moisture, and a neutralizing shampoo to stop the relaxing process.

Does Profectiv Procision Touch Relaxer Super come with a neutralizing shampoo?

Yes, Profectiv Procision Touch Relaxer Super typically includes a neutralizing shampoo in the kit. This is an essential part of the relaxing process, designed to halt the chemical action of the relaxer and restore the hair's natural pH balance. Using the neutralizing shampoo will help ensure that your hair stays healthy and strong post-relaxation, preventing potential damage and enhancing manageability. Following this step is crucial to achieve the best results and maintain the health of your hair.

Can I relax my hair if I have a sensitive scalp?

If you have a sensitive scalp, it's advisable to approach the application of Profectiv Procision Touch Relaxer Super with caution. Before use, consider conducting a patch test to check for any adverse reactions to the ingredients. Additionally, applying a protective oil or cream along the hairline and scalp can offer a barrier against irritation. If you have concerns, consulting a professional stylist who can assess your scalp condition and provide guidance tailored to your needs is a beneficial step.

What aftercare should I follow after relaxing my hair?

After using Profectiv Procision Touch Relaxer Super, proper aftercare is vital to maintain the health of your hair. It's essential to use a deep conditioning treatment to restore moisture and nourishment. Regularly incorporating leave-in conditioners and oil serums can help keep your hair hydrated and manageable. Additionally, avoid excessive heat styling and protective styles like braids can help mitigate damage, fostering healthier hair in the long run.
